Vehicle screening fails on throughput long before it fails on detection. If every vehicle has to stop and an officer has to crouch with a mirror, the queue reaches the public road within an hour.

Traffic Assessment
Sites specify inspection depth without checking what the approach road can absorb.
We start from vehicles per hour and the length of queue the site can physically hold.
Fixed or Mobile
Fixed systems need civil works that may not be permitted, while mobile systems trade away image resolution.
We put both options honestly: the VX3300 at 5000 x 2048 pixels fixed, or an 18 kg IP68 mobile head needing no groundwork.
Vehicle Mix
A plate rated for cars fails under a loaded truck.
Bearing weight is checked against your heaviest vehicle, up to more than 30 tonnes on the mobile system.
Identification
An undercarriage image with no vehicle identity attached is hard to use later.
Optional ALPR and RFID associate the image with vehicle records at capture.
Manual Inspection
Automatic imaging still leaves wheel arches, cabs and loads to be checked by hand.
Mirrors and cameras are specified alongside the scanner, from a 260 g pocket mirror to a recording infrared camera.
Records
A check with no record cannot be reviewed after an incident.
Images are stored, searchable and comparable against the same vehicle's earlier scans, with DVR recording on the camera kits.
Service
A system installed in the road surface is hard to maintain without closing the lane.
We plan the maintenance access at design stage and supply spares with the order.

Does a vehicle have to stop to be scanned
No. The mobile system scans during the manoeuvre at 1 to 65 km/h, and the fixed VX3300 triggers automatically from induction coils.
Fixed or mobile, which is right for us
Fixed gives better image resolution and a permanent installation. Mobile needs no civil works and can move. If your site cannot excavate, the decision is already made.
Will it take our heaviest vehicles
The mobile scanning head bears more than 30 tonnes. Send your heaviest axle load and we will confirm.
Can we compare a vehicle against its last visit
Yes, images are stored, retrieved, searched and compared against other images of the same vehicle.
Do we still need mirrors if we have a scanner
Usually yes. The scanner covers the undercarriage; wheel arches, cabs and loads are still checked by hand.
