Garment and Textile Manufacturing

Broken needle control is a buyer requirement before it is a safety one. A garment exporter is judged on whether the check can be evidenced, not just whether it happened.

Garment and Textile Manufacturing

What goes wrong

  • A broken needle in a finished garment is a buyer rejection
  • Manual checks cannot cover full production volume
  • Material effect from the fabric causes false rejects and wasted product
  • A needle lying at certain angles is missed by a single sensor head
  • Cartons have to be opened and repacked to be inspected

What the equipment has to do

  • Twin sensor heads at different angles so orientation stops mattering
  • Published detection capability against working height
  • A safety lock so operators cannot change the sensitivity setting
  • Carton-level detection for sealed boxes before dispatch
  • Printed and downloadable records for the buyer's audit

Typical scenarios

  • Final garment inspection before packing
  • Carton-level checks before palletising and dispatch
  • Long or bulky product through a 6010 mm tunnel
  • Towel, underwear and sanitary product lines

How we work through it

  • Send the product type, maximum height through the aperture and the line rate
  • Detection height chosen knowing sensitivity falls as height rises
  • Sensitivity set and then locked under QA control
  • Test needle card verification agreed at commissioning and per interval
  • Record-keeping method agreed with your buyer's requirement in mind

What we deliver beyond the equipment

  • 600 mm net detection width standard, non-standard sizes made to order
  • Epson printer and downloadable history for long-term records
  • Optional HS-601 automatic sorter for separating rejected product
  • RFID and barcode reader connectivity for line integration

Garment and Textile Manufacturing FAQ

What detection capability can we promise a buyer

The HKN-800D publishes Fe 0.8 mm at 100 mm working height, falling to Fe 1.5 mm at 250 mm. Quote the figure at the height you actually run.

Why does detection weaken as the aperture opens

It is physics, not a product limitation. The further the product sits from the coil, the weaker the signal. Any supplier claiming otherwise is guessing.

Can operators change the sensitivity setting

Not on the HKN-800D, which has a safety lock specifically to keep it under management control.

Can we check sealed cartons

Yes, the KND-6040 inspects large sealed carton boxes without opening them.

Can rejected product be separated automatically

Yes, with the optional HS-601 automatic sorter on the double-headed machine.
