Factory Sourcing and Vetting
Solution

Factory Sourcing and Vetting

Finding a factory is easy; finding the right factory is the part that costs importers money. We have been connecting clients with a network of reliable and experienced Chinese factories and specialists since 2007, and more than three thousand customers have used us for their sourcing. Over five hundred of them have stayed with us for more than a decade, which is the only evidence of a sourcing service that really counts.

Workflow

From Enquiry to Delivered Goods

Every stage below is a point where sourcing projects usually go wrong. This is what we do at each of them.

Enquiry

Problem: A buyer usually describes a product in the language of their own market which no Chinese factory quotes against directly.

We translate the requirement into the terms a factory prices from and come back to you with the questions that will change the price before anyone quotes.

Factory selection

Problem: Directory listings and trade platforms show the factories that pay to be visible rather than the ones that can build your item.

We draw on the network built since 2007 and shortlist against your product, then use our access to information on the creditworthiness of Chinese companies to screen out the risky names.

Comparison and negotiation

Problem: Comparing quotations that describe the same product differently is where most foreign buyers lose control of the decision.

We put the shortlisted factories side by side and add insights you would not be able to obtain on your own, then negotiate on your behalf with the factory price visible to you.

Design and specification

Problem: An agreement reached in conversation leaves gaps that each side later fills in its own favour.

The specification is written down and attached to the order so the factory is building to a document rather than to a memory of a call.

Sampling

Problem: Committing to a new factory without a physical piece in your hand is the most common way an importer gets hurt.

A sample is made to your exact specifications and checked before it is sent, so the factory is judged on its output rather than on its presentation.

Production

Problem: Once a purchase order is issued the buyer typically goes quiet until the shipping date approaches.

We visit the plant during the run and report what we see, which is the point at which a drifting order can still be pulled back.

Inspection and shipping

Problem: An importer who inspects only on arrival has already paid for the freight on any rejected goods.

Goods are checked in China and released against that check, and logistics is arranged as part of the same end to end service.

After sales

Problem: A one off sourcing arrangement leaves nobody responsible once the container has cleared.

We stay as the point of contact for the factory relationship, which is why hundreds of clients have kept the same arrangement running for over ten years.
