Light double beam overhead crane chart illustrating the 20 ton crane build
Industry Application

Construction

Construction appears on our original industry list because contractors were among the first buyers to ask us for lifting gear that could be moved from site to site. A portable gantry crane with adjustable legs and mobile casters can be set up on one pour and struck down the same week, while a wall jib crane stays with a permanent workshop. Alongside the cranes we buy in the fabricated steel, fasteners and stampings that go into temporary works, so a contractor can consolidate several purchase orders into a single shipment from China.

Problems

Industry Pain Points

Site programmes move faster than a factory lead time quoted in generic weeks with no milestone behind it

Lifting gear bought cheaply abroad arrives without the drawings a site safety officer needs to approve its use

Small tonnage orders get deprioritised by large factories chasing heavy industrial contracts

Adjustable span equipment is often quoted against a span the buyer never actually confirmed on site

Spare parts for an imported gantry become impossible to identify once the original supplier stops replying

In Operation

Typical Application Scenarios

Process

How a Project Runs

Site brief

We collect the span the headroom and the heaviest single lift before any factory is approached so the quotation answers the real site rather than a catalogue page.

Factory shortlist

We compare factories from the network we have built since 2007 and put forward the ones whose normal work is this tonnage class rather than those stretching down to reach it.

Drawing approval

General arrangement drawings come back to you for sign off and no steel is cut until the span and leg settings on the drawing match the site.

Build and witness

Our team visits during the build so welding and paint are checked while they can still be corrected rather than after the crate is closed.

Consolidation

Cranes fasteners and fabricated items from different factories are gathered into one consignment and marked to your site references.

FAQ

Construction Sourcing FAQ

What lifting capacity can a portable gantry crane reach

The portable gantry cranes on our range reach up to ten tonnes with adjustable spans and adjustable legs and they are built light enough in aluminium to be repositioned by hand.

Can a wall jib crane be supplied for a site workshop

Yes. Jib cranes are supplied with a jib length of up to ten metres and rotation through the full three hundred and sixty degrees which suits a fixed workshop bay.

Do you supply construction parts other than cranes

We source sheet metal fabrication metal stampings fasteners and machined parts from the same vetted network so several requirements can travel on one order.

How do you charge for the sourcing work

Our service fee is as low as three per cent and the factory price is shown to you rather than hidden inside a marked up figure.

What happens if the site span changes after ordering

Tell us before the drawing is approved and the change costs nothing. After steel is cut a change becomes a factory variation so we always hold the drawing open until the site confirms.

Talk Through Your Construction Project

Tell us what you lift move or process in construction and we will scope the equipment and the factory behind it.
