Carbide is unforgiving: a part that is out of grade or out of size cannot be reworked back into specification. That is why the checks sit inside the production line rather than at the end of it.
How We Work
The company has been guided by the technical idea of inheriting the classic and innovating, and has been dedicated to the development and production of ultra-fine and ultra-hard materials such as cemented tungsten carbide rods since 2012.
Chengdu Golden Wolfran Carbide is an ISO certificated enterprise. Copies of the current certificates are sent with the quotation on request, so ask for the version that applies to your order and your destination country.
Inspection Points
- Incoming powder checked before milling so grain size and binder content match the grade.
- Density and hardness measured on sintered parts against the published grade values.
- Metallographic microscope used to check porosity and structure after sintering.
- Dimensions and tolerances verified against the drawing before packing.
What Each Check Tells Us
Density
Measured against the g/cm³ figure published for the grade. A low reading points at porosity or at the wrong binder content.
Hardness
Rockwell A, checked against the HRA column in the grade chart. It confirms the grade is what the order called for.
Structure
Under the metallographic microscope, to look at porosity and grain structure after sintering.
Magnetic Properties
Instruments in the test room support checks on the binder phase, which matters for the non-magnetic YN grades.
Dimensions
Against the drawing, before packing, including the tolerances published in our own dimension tables.
Sinter-HIP On Every Order
Pressure sintering is applied to all orders rather than being an option on selected ones.

Is the company certified?
Chengdu Golden Wolfran Carbide is an ISO certificated enterprise. Certificate copies are sent with the quotation on request.
What is checked after sintering?
Density, hardness and structure, against the values published for the grade, plus the dimensions on the drawing.
Why does every order get sinter-HIPped?
Sinter-HIP densifies the part under pressure during sintering, which closes porosity. All our orders go through it rather than only selected ones.
Can you supply a test report with the order?
Tell us at the enquiry stage what the report needs to show and we will confirm what we can issue for your part.
What happens if a batch does not meet the drawing?
It does not ship. Dedication to continual quality improvements is one of the commitments we make to customers, and that starts with not sending out work that fails inspection.
