Polypropylene Baler Twine

TSPLAS baler twine is a synthetic polypropylene twine for square balers, supplied from 150 lbs by 7200 ft up to 650 lbs by 3600 ft in green, orange, yellow and blue. It is UV resistant and engineered to knot easily and hold the knot under load.

Overview

What This Product Is Built To Do

Twine fails in two places: in the knotter and in the stack. TSPLAS baler twine is made from synthetic fibre, typically polypropylene, which holds its strength under sunlight and moisture far better than natural fibre, and it is built to knot easily and keep those knots tight through handling, transport and storage. The size range covers what square balers are actually set up for, from light hay twine through to the high tensile ratings dense straw and large square bales demand.

Key Benefits

  • Knots easily and holds the knot, which is where most twine failures happen
  • UV resistant so bales stored outdoors do not shed their binding
  • Eight standard strength and length combinations to match any square baler
  • Colour coded so bales from different cuts or customers stay identifiable
  • Lower cost per bale than wire or rope binding

Problems It Solves

  • Twine that will not hold a knot and drops bales in the field
  • Natural fibre twine degrading in sunlight and moisture
  • Fraying and breakage under heavy square bale tension
  • Bale lots that cannot be told apart once they reach the yard

Who It Is For

  • Square baling contractors
  • Hay and straw exporters
  • Farm stores and agricultural co-operatives
  • Importers supplying forage and bedding markets

Application Scenarios

  • Small and large square baling of hay and straw
  • Straw and bedding production for livestock units
  • Bales stored outdoors or moved several times before use
  • General yard use such as tying tarps and securing loads

Comparison

How It Compares With The Alternatives

Sisal and other natural fibre twinePolypropylene keeps its strength under sunlight and moisture, where natural fibre breaks down over a storage season.
Wire bindingTwine is markedly cheaper per bale, faster to tie and cut, and does not leave wire in a feed ration or a field.
Bale net wrapTwine is the binding for square balers. Net wrap is for round balers and covers the full bale surface instead of running bands along it.
Use Guide

Getting The Specification You Paid For

  • Match the pound rating to bale weight and baler tension rather than buying one size for everything
  • Thread the twine box so the spools feed without crossing
  • Keep unused spools in their packaging and out of direct sunlight
  • Use colour to separate cuts, fields or customers as bales enter the stack
  • Collect used twine from the feed area so it does not reach stock or machinery
FAQ

Baler Twine Questions

Which twine do I need for a large square baler?

Large square and dense straw bales normally run on the higher ratings, from 400 lbs up to 650 lbs. Send your baler model and typical bale weight and we will confirm.

Is the twine UV resistant?

Yes. It is made with UV resistant material so it does not weaken quickly when bales are stored in sunlight.

Can I order a colour that is not on the list?

Yes. Green, orange, yellow and blue are standard and other colours are produced to order.

Is there a minimum order?

No. There is no minimum order quantity, though shipping cost per unit falls sharply with volume.

How is the twine packed?

In buckets or cartons depending on the size, then palletised for container loading.
