Which of these grades is magnetic?
410 and 430 are ferritic or martensitic and are magnetic; 302, 304, 305 and 316 are austenitic and are not, in the annealed condition.
Why does a stainless bolt need a salt spray figure at all?
Because the figure varies with grade and with any finish applied over it. Quoting the range honestly is more useful than claiming stainless never corrodes.
