Reading A Lighting Specification: The Eight Fields That Actually Decide
Every product page on this site publishes the same specification fields. Here is what each one changes, and which ones a buyer can safely skim.
The specification table on each product page is not decoration. Eight of its fields carry real consequences, and a buyer who reads those eight will avoid most of the problems that show up after delivery.
The eight fields

| Light Source | Your maintenance cost for a decade. A lamp base means relampable; LED means integrated. |
| Input Voltage | Whether it works in your market. 90 to 260V and 85 to 265V both cover 110V and 220 to 240V supply. |
| Color Temperature | How the room feels, and it is fixed at the order stage on most models. 3000K warm, 4000K neutral, 6500K cool. |
| Color Rendering Index | How accurately colours appear. Where published, the figure here is normally Ra 70. |
| Lifespan | Rated hours for the light source, commonly 50,000 on the integrated LED models in this catalogue. |
| Shade Material | Weight, fragility, cleaning regime and how the light is diffused. It is the field that predicts the maintenance conversation. |
| Size | Whether it fits, in millimetres. The field buyers skip and then argue about. |
Fields to read carefully rather than skim
Application tells you what the fixture was designed for, and it is worth taking seriously: a fabric shade listed for a living room is not a mistake waiting to be corrected, it is a warning against putting it over a cooker. Control Mode is usually switch control across this catalogue, which matters if you were planning a dimming system. Style is the least consequential field on the page and the one most buyers read first.
What is not on the specification
- IP rating. Nothing in this catalogue is published with one, so treat everything as interior or covered-location.
- Lumen output. Where it is not published, ask rather than infer it from wattage.
- Beam angle on directional fittings, unless it is stated on that product page.
- Whether lamps are included. Several products state that LED bulbs are purchased separately; where it is not stated, ask.
Why we leave gaps rather than fill them
A plausible invented number is more dangerous than a blank, because a buyer will design around it and discover the problem at installation. Where our specification does not carry a figure, this site does not print one. Ask us and we will either give you the real number or tell you we do not have it.
Record the item number at the point of purchase, not at the point of failure. It is the single most useful line in the whole table.

Why do some products have fewer fields than others?
Because the source specification carries fewer. We publish what exists rather than filling the table to make it look complete.
What does Ra 70 mean in practice?
Colours will look normal but not exceptional. For food presentation or a retail environment selling colour-critical goods, ask us about the specific model before specifying it.
Is the lifespan figure a warranty?
No. Lifespan is a rated figure for the light source. The warranty is separate and is six years.
