A spring hose clamp with solid holes formed in the ears, giving the fitter a positive grip point for pliers. On a clamp fitted in a confined engine bay or equipment housing, that grip point is the difference between a quick job and a slow one.
Solid holes let clamp pliers engage securely rather than slipping off the ears under load.
Like all spring clamps, it takes up thermal expansion and contraction without needing re-tightening.
