A stainless retaining clip that holds a shaft, pin or component in position by springing into a groove or against a shoulder. It is the fastener-free way of keeping an assembly together, and stainless makes it usable in wet and washdown machinery.

Retention depends on the fit between the clip and the groove, so the clip is made to your actual geometry.
Fit with the correct tool where one is specified. Levering a retaining clip in with a screwdriver distorts it and is the usual cause of a clip that will not stay seated.

Against a standard circlip, a custom retaining spring clip can be made for a non-standard groove or an unusual access direction, which off-the-shelf circlips cannot.
