Against a chrome plated bathroom hook, galvanising is less decorative and considerably more durable in a wet environment. For visible premium fittings, stainless gives both.
Stainless is better and costs more. Galvanising is the value choice for bathroom fittings; stainless is the choice for a premium product.
Not while the coating is intact. Damage at the mounting point during installation is the usual cause of staining.
