Landscape and Park Lighting Schemes

Landscape and Park Lighting Schemes

Park and plaza schemes are designed by landscape architects and built by grounds teams, so the lighting has to survive planting, mowing and public handling as well as weather.

Stage by stage

What Happens And Why Each Step Exists

  1. Scheme Reading

A planting plan tells you more about lighting positions than a lighting plan does.

We work from the landscape drawing to set head sizes and pole heights against sightlines and planting heights.

  2. Scale Mix

A cluster of identical heads reads as hardware; mixed diameters read as planting.

Head diameters run 40 cm to 180 cm. Mixing two or three in a cluster is what makes it look designed.

  3. Low Voltage Layout

Power distribution is the real constraint across a park.

Landscape sculptures run at AC 12 V, so one driver position feeds a cluster and the cabling stays low voltage.

  4. Hand Build

These are made by hand as art craft, not pressed from a mould.

Acrylic flowers or fibre optic strands are set into each head individually, which is why no two are quite identical.

  5. Weatherproofing

Everything is outdoors for a full season or permanently.

IP65 build on 2.2 mm pure copper wire, ageing tested, heatproof and cold resistant, on powder coated iron frames.

  6. Delivery and Setting

Poles have to go into whatever ground the site actually has.

Poles at 1.5 m, 2 m or 3 m in iron or stainless. Tell us whether the base is soil, paving or deck.

  7. Maintenance

Grounds teams, not lighting contractors, usually look after these.

Because there is no MOQ on fibre optic art, replacement heads can be made to match an existing cluster later.

Questions

Landscape and Park Lighting Schemes Questions

Can you make a one-off size for a single scheme?

Yes. There is no MOQ limit on fibre optic art, so a single bespoke cluster is normal work rather than an exception.

How is power distributed across a park?

At AC 12 V from a driver position serving a cluster, which keeps the trenching and the cable specification down compared with mains at each unit.

Will the acrylic heads survive a full season outdoors?

They are built to IP65 with ageing-tested 2.2 mm copper wiring on a powder coated iron frame, for outdoor use.

Can we add to a cluster in a later year?

Yes. Send photographs, head diameter and pole height. Because the heads are hand made we match to your existing physical units rather than to a catalogue code.
