Two Different Ways To Build A Head

Both start from the same frame: powder coated iron on a 1.5 m to 3 m pole, wired at AC 12 V with 2.2 mm pure copper. The difference is what is set into the head. Acrylic flowers give discrete, jewel-like points of light. Fibre optic strands give a softer halo that moves in wind.

Acrylic reads well close up, where the individual flower forms are visible, and holds a defined silhouette from a distance. Fibre optic is at its best at mid distance as a glowing mass, and loses definition close up. For a path-side cluster that people walk past within a metre, acrylic usually wins.

Durability And Handling

Acrylic flowers take handling better, which matters for hire fleets and for anything installed and struck every season. Fibre optic strands are more vulnerable to being grabbed, and strand loss is visible. In a fenced or planted position that is not an issue; beside a busy path it is.

Colour And Control

Both are available in white, warm white, red, green, blue, yellow, purple and RGB. RGB is worth the premium where one cluster has to serve several events across a year; a single fixed colour is cheaper and usually more elegant for a permanent landscape scheme.

Size And Cluster Planning

Head diameters run 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160 and 180 cm. Whichever construction you choose, mix at least two diameters and two pole heights in a cluster. A single size repeated is the fastest way to make hand-made pieces look mass produced.

What It Costs You To Decide Late

Both are made by hand with no MOQ limit, so a single bespoke cluster is normal. Because they are hand made, they are matched to a physical sample rather than a catalogue code — so if you may extend the cluster later, order a spare head now and keep it as your reference.
