Threaded Stainless Fitting With Flange

A bulkhead-style fitting with a long male thread, a wrench flange and an internal taper that guides whatever passes through it

Product Overview

One Turning That Mounts, Seals And Guides

The long male thread carries the fitting through a panel or a boss; the integral flange gives the spanner something to work on and forms the seating face; the internal taper leads a tube, a shaft or a cable into the bore without a sharp edge to chew on it.

Fittings of this type appear in communication equipment and automation machines where something has to pass through a wall and stay sealed and supported at the same time.

Threaded stainless fitting with hex flange and machined bore
Key Benefits

Three Jobs, One Part Number

Lead-In Machined, Not Filed

The internal taper is cut to the drawing angle instead of being approximated with a countersink.

Wrench Flats Where They Belong

The flange is thick enough to torque against without deforming the sealing face.

Full Thread Length

Thread is cut over the length your panel thickness needs, not to a standard stock length.

Application Scenarios

  • Bulkhead pass-throughs in communication cabinets
  • Panel-mounted fluid and air connections
  • Cable and tube guides on automation frames
  • Threaded bosses on machined manifolds

Who It Is For

  • Designers passing a tube or cable through a sealed wall
  • Buyers who cannot find a catalogue fitting with the right thread length
  • Engineers replacing a two-part fitting and lock nut
  • OEMs needing stainless rather than plated steel
Problems It Solves

Problems With Off-The-Shelf Fittings

  • Catalogue threads that are too short for the panel thickness
  • Sharp bore edges that damage the tube or cable during assembly
  • Sealing faces distorted by torquing on a thin flange
  • Plated steel fittings corroding in humid installations

Thread To Fit

Length, pitch and class follow the application, not a stock range.

Machined Lead-In

The taper angle is a drawing dimension and is inspected.

Solid Stainless

Corrosion resistance comes from the material, not from a coating.

Technical Features

  • Long male thread cut to the specified length
  • Integral hexagonal or knurled flange
  • Internal lead-in taper machined in the same setup
  • Flat sealing face on the underside of the flange
  • Deburred bore at both ends

Thread, bore and taper are drawing-driven. Material grades listed are the ones the workshop runs regularly.

Materials We Run

  • SUS304 for general indoor equipment
  • SUS316L where salt, moisture or cleaning agents are present
  • Brass for electrical bonding applications
  • Free-cutting steel with plating where cost dominates

Manufacturing Process

Turn Body And Flange

Outside diameters and the flange are cut from bar.

Drill And Bore

The through bore is drilled and bored to size.

Machine Lead-In

The internal taper is cut to the drawing angle.

Thread And Passivate

The male thread is cut, then the part is cleaned and passivated if specified.

Quality Control

  • Thread gauged go and no-go on first article and during the run
  • Bore and taper checked on a profile projector
  • Flange thickness and face flatness measured
  • Passivation confirmed by the supplier certificate when specified
  • ISO 9001 quality system held since 2009

Customization Options

  • Thread size, pitch, class and length
  • Flange form, hex or knurled, and thickness
  • Bore diameter and taper angle
  • O-ring groove on the sealing face
  • Passivation, electropolish or plating
Comparison

Machined Fitting Against Standard Parts

Catalogue bulkhead fittingThread length and bore taper are yours rather than the nearest stock size, at a higher unit cost in small quantities.
Fitting plus lock nut assemblyOne part to buy, stock and assemble, and one less joint to leak.
Moulded plastic glandTakes torque and temperature that a plastic gland will not, and does not creep under load.
Use Guide

Specifying The Fitting

Measure The Panel

Thread length follows panel thickness plus the nut and washer stack.

Describe What Passes Through

Tube, cable or shaft decides the bore size and the taper angle.

Choose The Seal

Face seal, O-ring groove or thread sealant changes the flange design.

State The Environment

Washdown or marine duty points to SUS316L rather than SUS304.

FAQ

Threaded Stainless Fitting With Flange — FAQ

What is the difference between SUS304 and SUS316L for this fitting?

SUS316L contains molybdenum and resists chlorides and cleaning chemicals better, which matters in washdown and coastal installations. SUS304 is adequate for dry indoor equipment and costs less. Both are grades we run regularly.

Can you machine an O-ring groove in the flange face?

Yes, it is cut in the same setup as the sealing face. Give us the O-ring size and we will work the groove dimensions from the seal supplier's data.

Can the thread run the full length of the body?

It can. Full-length threading is common on bulkhead fittings so one part covers several panel thicknesses. Say so on the drawing and we will cut it that way.

Do you passivate stainless parts?

When the drawing calls for it, yes, through a qualified local processor, and the certificate travels with the shipment.

How are these packed for export?

Bagged by quantity, then boxed, with the part number and lot on the label. Special packing for painted or polished faces is arranged on request.
