Pocket Filter Pitch And Why Servo Registration Decides Filter Performance

Pocket pitch sets the filter surface area. Here is how registration drift changes a filter's rating and what holds it steady at production speed.

Surface Area Is Sold By The Pocket

A pocket filter is rated on filtration area and pressure drop, both of which follow directly from pocket depth and pitch. If pitch drifts by a few millimetres across a panel, the finished filter no longer matches the specification it is sold against, even though it looks correct.

Six Servos Instead Of Mechanical Timing

Our AQ-(600-1000) pocket filter machine uses six servo motors with an anti-interference control system. Servo drives hold the relationship between welding, cutting and transport electronically, so pitch does not drift as the line warms up or as speed changes.

Photoelectric Tracking For Marked Media

When media carries print or registration marks, photoelectric tracking follows the mark rather than counting length. Unmarked media runs in length mode instead. Having both available means you are not forced to buy printed media to get accurate pockets.

Heat Management On Long Runs

Ultrasonic stacks heat up. Without cooling, weld quality drifts through a shift and operators compensate by raising power, which weakens the media. The cooling system on this machine is what makes continuous running practical at 15-20 m/min.

FAQ

Questions On This Topic

What production speed can we expect?

15 to 20 m per minute, depending on media weight, pocket depth and the number of pockets.

What width is the machine built to?

The 600 to 1000 mm range. Tell us your filter panel size and we quote the matching build.

Can pocket depth be changed?

Pocket depth and pocket count are configured to your filter specification. Send the panel drawing with your enquiry.
