SMD Recessed LED Downlight

The SMD Recessed LED Downlight is a recessed diecast aluminium downlight using surface-mount LED chips designed for commercial interiors where low cost and fast delivery are priorities. It uses Epistar SMD LED chips with CRI above 80 and delivers 400 to 1280 lumens across three models: GG2505A (5W), CG3012A (12W) and CG4015A (16W). All models operate on 220-240VAC at 50Hz or 60Hz, feature a DOB driver, and have a fixed 120 degree beam angle. The housing is diecast aluminium with a diffuser cover, and the cut-out size matches the fixture diameter. It is suitable for ceilings where a flush or semi-flush appearance is acceptable and where high lumen output is not required.

Who It Is For

Buyers And Applications

Who Buys It

  • Lighting importers sourcing low-cost recessed downlights for commercial projects
  • Electrical wholesalers needing fast delivery on standard fixture models
  • Contractors installing ceiling lights in large numbers with minimal design complexity
  • Retail fit-out teams replacing older halogen downlights with LED at scale
  • Designers specifying consistent beam spread and colour temperature across multiple zones

Where It Is Used

  • Retail shop ceilings where low-cost, high-volume downlights are needed for general ambient lighting
  • Office corridors and stairwells where uniform, wide-angle illumination is required
  • Supermarket backrooms and storage areas where high lumen output is not critical
  • Villas and hospitality guest rooms where a simple, reliable downlight is preferred
  • Showrooms with low ceiling heights where flush mounting is not required
Problems It Solves

What Goes Wrong Without It

  • High-cost LED downlights that delay project timelines due to long lead times
  • Inconsistent colour rendering from low-CRI LEDs that make surfaces look dull
  • Flickering or failing drivers in budget fixtures that cause early field failures
  • Mismatched cut-out sizes that require custom hole cutting on site
  • Over-engineered fixtures with dimming or adjustable features that are not needed

Manufacturing And Quality

How It Is Made And Checked

Manufacturing Process

  • Diecast aluminium housing machined and prepared for assembly
  • LED board assembled with Epistar chips and thermally bonded to the housing
  • DOB driver installed and wired to the LED board
  • Diffuser cover fitted and secured to the housing
  • Fixture tested for basic functionality before packing
  • Final inspection performed before shipment

Quality Control

  • Incoming inspection of Epistar LED chips and DOB drivers before assembly
  • Photometric testing to verify lumen output and colour temperature
  • Temperature testing on assembled fixtures to assess thermal performance
  • Reliability testing on a sample batch before full production release
  • 100% inspection of every fixture before shipment
Customization

What We Can Change For You

  • Colour temperature selected from 3000K, 4000K or 6000K at order
  • Model chosen from GG2505A (5W), CG3012A (12W) or CG4015A (16W)
  • Cut-out size matched to fixture diameter for standard ceiling holes
  • No beam angle adjustment available; fixed at 120 degrees
  • No dimming options available; standard version is non-dimmable
Comparison

How It Compares With The Alternatives

High-end recessed downlight with adjustable beamThis model has a fixed 120 degree beam, so it cannot be adjusted on site, but it is lower cost and faster to deliver
Integrated LED panel with built-in driverThis downlight uses a separate DOB driver, which may be easier to replace if failed, but requires more space in the ceiling cavity
Recessed downlight with CRI above 90This model has CRI above 80, so it is less suitable for colour-critical applications, but it is priced lower and available faster
Dimmable recessed downlight with DALIThis model is not dimmable, so it is simpler to install and cheaper, but cannot be used in scenes requiring light level control
Use Guide

Before You Order And Before You Install

  • Confirm the ceiling hole size matches the fixture cut-out before ordering
  • Use 3000K for warm, inviting spaces like villas and hospitality areas
  • Use 4000K or 6000K for offices and retail where clarity and alertness are needed
  • Do not attempt to dim the fixture as it is not designed for dimming
  • Mount on a solid ceiling structure to avoid sagging or loose fit
  • Avoid installing in high-temperature environments where heat builds up
