Energy Saving Cooler Lighting
In a refrigerated case, every watt of lighting is a watt the compressor has to remove again. Energy saving in cold display is therefore worth roughly twice what it is worth in an ambient space, and it is the case LUK builds its cooler range around.

A project is a sequence of problems. This is the order they arrive in and what we do about each one.

Audit The Existing Case
The problem: Fluorescent or early LED case lighting is often drawing far more than the light level requires.
How we handle it: We start from the case dimensions, the existing lighting load and the light level actually needed at the shelf.

Select The Engine
The problem: Efficacy and colour rendering pull against each other, and cold display needs both.
How we handle it: The cooler module range publishes CRI 80, 90 and 98 builds with the efficacy stated for each, so the trade-off is made deliberately.

Fit The Existing Case
The problem: A retrofit that requires drilling the liner is not a retrofit.
How we handle it: Magnetic bars mount without drilling and lift off for cleaning; rigid boards are sized to the existing extrusion.

Protect Against The Environment
The problem: Condensation and daily cleaning kill lighting that was never rated for it.
How we handle it: IP67 strip and neon flex builds are used where water can reach the lighting, and the magnetic bar is rated to minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Hold Consistency Across The Fleet
The problem: A refit done case by case ends up with visibly different colour along an aisle.
How we handle it: Boards are binned and matched so cases fitted months apart still look like one installation.

Verify And Document
The problem: A saving that cannot be measured will not be approved twice.
How we handle it: Part numbers, wattage per metre and efficacy are published per build so the before and after load can be documented.
