Every stage below is a point where sourcing projects usually go wrong. This is what we do at each of them.
Problem: Buyers describe quality in adjectives and factories then deliver against their own interpretation of those adjectives.
We convert the expectation into checkable characteristics at the enquiry stage, because an inspector can only verify something that was written down as a criterion.
Problem: Certificates presented in a sales pack are the easiest documents in the supply chain to misrepresent.
Factory certifications are verified as part of the selection step and the factory is only recommended once it meets our standards for that class of product.
Problem: A specification with no inspection plan attached is an opinion rather than a control.
