A plate pasteurizer for treating fresh milk, dairy beverages, fruit juice, tea, beer, ice cream and other liquid food products. The process flow runs from product inlet at 5 degrees C through heating to 65 degrees C, homogenising, pasteurising at 85 degrees C for 15S and back to product outlet at 5 degrees C. It is normally connected with a degasser, milk separator and homogenizer in a milk processing line. Working capacity runs from 500L/H to 20,000L/H, customised, in SUS304 or SUS316L, with semi automatic or full automatic control.
Heating and cooling in the same plate pack recovers heat so the same duty costs less energy than separate stages
A defined 85 degrees C for 15S hold makes the pasteurisation step auditable rather than a matter of operator judgement
Product is returned to 5 degrees C at outlet so the treated product goes straight to cold storage or filling
Semi automatic and full automatic control levels let plants buy the automation they will actually operate
Supplied with balance tank pumps hot water tank and control cabinet so the pasteurisation stage arrives as one package
Heating and cooling as separate unconnected steps wastes energy that a plate pack can recover
Without a controlled hold time and temperature the pasteurisation step cannot be defended in an audit
Product leaving hot has to be cooled separately before filling or storage
Sourcing the exchanger pumps hot water set and control cabinet separately leaves integration risk

UHT treatment is aimed at shelf stable product while pasteurisation at 85 degrees C for 15S produces chilled product
The pasteurizer adds the hot water set balance tank pumps and control package around the plate pack
A yogurt pasteurizer is arranged for the yogurt process while this unit covers general liquid food pasteurisation
The process flow heats the product to 85 degrees C with a 15S hold, then cools it back to 5 degrees C at outlet.
Working capacity runs from 500L/H to 20,000L/H and is customised to the line.
The plate heat exchanger, product pump, hot water pump, hot water tank, product balance tank and an electrical control cabinet with Schneider components.
