Four strain gauge sensors under the corners give a stable reading regardless of where the user stands. Cheaper designs cut corners here and the shopper notices immediately, because the weight changes when they shift their feet. Every retail body scale in this range uses a four sensor system.
Check The Glass
Platform glass is the second source of returns. Look for safety tempered glass and a stated thickness; the 2011A for example uses an 8 mm tempered glass platform at 30 x 30 x 4.2 cm overall. Thin glass survives the warehouse and fails in a bathroom.

Capacity Division And Units
Retail body scales typically offer 180 kg or 200 kg capacity with 0.1 kg divisions, and unit switching between kilograms, pounds and stones for different markets. Get the unit set right for the destination or you will be answering support emails about a number the customer does not recognise.
Battery And Switch On Behaviour
Most models run from a single CR2032 lithium cell, use a foot tap switch on with automatic zero tracking, and power off after a few seconds. Battery inclusion depends on your shipping mode, because air freight restricts some cells, so confirm this at order stage.
Certification For The Destination
The retail body scale models list CE and RoHS, which covers the usual European retail requirement. Confirm the destination market with us before production so the documentation that ships matches the market you are selling into.
Packing Is Part Of The Product
For an own brand programme the carton matters as much as the scale. Published figures let you cost the container in advance, and customised print and logo work on both product and packaging is accepted, so a programme does not need a separate branding supplier.
