Capability

CNC Turning

Turned bodies, sleeves, emitters, bushings and threaded fittings in brass, aluminum and stainless steel, with knurling and threading in the same setup.

Overview

Why This Service Exists

Anything round on your drawing — a sleeve, a shroud, a threaded collar, a bushing — is turned rather than milled, which keeps concentricity tight and cost down.

The Problem

Round parts machined on separate setups drift out of concentricity, so threads bind and sleeves no longer slide over the body they were drawn against.

What You Get

Diameters, threads and knurls that have to agree with each other are cut in the same setup, so mating parts assemble the first time.

Who It Is For

Built For These Projects

  • Saber builders needing emitters, shrouds and threaded pommels to index correctly
  • EDC brands producing turned bodies, spacers and tail caps
  • Designers ordering bushings, sleeves and shaft adaptors to drawing
  • Anyone replacing a turned part that is no longer available

Process

How The Work Runs

Drawing Review

Thread callouts, fits and surface notes are checked against the model before quoting.

Bar Selection

Stock diameter is chosen to leave enough material for the finish pass without wasting bar.

Turning

Diameters, grooves and threads are cut in the fewest setups the geometry allows.

Secondary Work

Cross holes, flats and engraving are added after turning where the drawing requires them.

Inspection

Mating diameters and thread fit are checked before finishing or shipping.

FAQ

CNC Turning Questions

Can you cut threads that match a part I already have?

Yes, if the thread is dimensioned on the drawing. Send the pitch, diameter and class, or send the mating part’s drawing so both sides are cut to the same callout.

What tolerance do you hold on turned diameters?

±0.05 mm as standard, and ±0.01 mm where the drawing calls for a high-precision diameter.

Do you turn brass?

Yes. Brass C360 is one of the materials GRACTS specialises in, alongside aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel.

Is there a minimum quantity for turned parts?

No. Single prototype orders are accepted, and volume pricing applies from 100 pieces.
