W-Beam and Thrie-Beam Guardrail Made to Your Specification

W-beam and thrie-beam guardrails are produced to AASHTO M180, the standard written into road authority tenders across the Americas. The factory rolls the profile from Tang Steel coil and hot-dip galvanizes it in-house to 550 g/m2. Standard W-beam is 4128 x 310 x 83 mm at 2.67 mm thickness. Thrie-beam has three corrugations and is used where higher impact resistance is required. Both are supplied with posts, terminals, and fittings from the same production run.

Procurement Risk

Problems This Category Solves

  • Barrier sections that do not match the existing profile on site, requiring field modifications
  • Galvanizing that does not meet the 550 g/m2 specification required by road authority tenders
  • Steel grade variation across a shipment leading to inconsistent impact performance
  • Lack of compatibility between beam splices and post hole patterns from different suppliers
  • Installation delays caused by site welding or missing terminal end sections
Buyers

Who It Is For

  • Road authority contractors sourcing barrier by the container against a written specification
  • Highway construction companies installing guardrail on new roadway alignments
  • Civil infrastructure importers distributing crash barriers in regional markets
  • Road safety product distributors stocking AASHTO M180 barrier for resale
Why Hongda

Core Advantages

  • Rolled to AASHTO M180, the standard used in most road authority tenders across the Americas
  • Hot-dip galvanized in-house to 550 g/m2, meeting the zinc coating requirement in most tender documents
  • Steel sourced from Tang Steel, ensuring consistent grade and thickness across batches
  • Splice holes punched to AASHTO M180 pattern, enabling direct installation without field drilling
  • Posts, terminals, and fittings produced in the same facility, ensuring system compatibility
Where It Goes

Application Scenarios

  • Highway shoulders where vehicles may run off the carriageway and strike roadside hazards
  • Rural road edges protecting drainage ditches, embankments, and fixed structures
  • Median separation on divided highways to prevent head-on collisions
  • Approaches to bridges, culverts, and sign gantries requiring point-hazard shielding
  • Roadside installations where repair is done by replacing single damaged sections

W-Beam and Thrie-Beam Guardrail Questions Buyers Ask

What standard is your W-beam guardrail made to?
AASHTO M180, the standard written into road authority tenders across the Americas. These are the standards specified in the markets where the product is exported.
What steel grade and thickness do you supply?
Standard is Q235B at 2.67 mm thickness. Q345 and other thicknesses are rolled to order when specified.
How thick is the galvanizing?
Zinc coating is 550 g/m2, measured at 80 microns. Galvanizing is done in the on-site workshop.
Can you supply posts and terminals with the beam?
Yes. Posts (C, Z, H, sigma, bolt-down), terminal ends, spacers, bolts, nuts, and caps are all produced at the same facility.
What is your minimum order and lead time?
Both are confirmed per order against your quantity and specification. Send your drawing or tender extract to [email protected] for a quotation.
Do you export in full containers?
Yes. W-beam has shipped in the hundreds of containers annually over the last ten years, primarily to the Americas.
What is the difference between W-beam and thrie-beam?
