Sinter-HIP Manufacturing of Tungsten Carbide Parts

Our production route runs from WC powder through ball milling spray drying mixed powder pressing Sinter-HIP and machining to the finished product.

Step by Step

How This Works in Practice

Step 1

WC Powder

Tungsten carbide powder is the starting material and the plant sits in Hunan Province where mineral resource is abundant.

Step 2

Ball Milling

Powder and binder are milled together so the mixture is uniform before drying.

Step 3

Spray Drying

The milled slurry is spray dried into a free flowing granulate that presses evenly.

Step 4

Mixed Powder

The prepared powder is checked and released for pressing.

Step 5

Pressing

Blanks are pressed to the shape required by the finished part with machining stock left where needed.

Step 6

Sinter-HIP

Sintering and hot isostatic pressing in one cycle densify the blank and reduce residual porosity that would start cracks.

Step 7

Machining

Grinding EDM and lapping produce bores keyways hole patterns cutting edges and sealing faces.

Step 8

Finished Product

Parts are inspected packed and prepared for export shipment.

Who This Is For

Situations This Covers

  • Wear parts that fail from crack initiation rather than from wear
  • Forging and heading tooling under repeated impact
  • Large parts where internal soundness matters
  • Any part where a previous supplier's material cracked in service
What We Need From You

To Move Quickly

  • Drawing sketch or measured photographs of the part
  • How the current part fails and after how long
  • Quantity and how often you expect to reorder
  • Operating conditions including temperature and media
  • Which dimensions actually control the function

FAQ

Sinter-HIP Manufacturing FAQ

How long does this stage normally take?
It depends on the geometry and the quantity. We give you a written timeline with the quotation rather than a general promise on a web page.
Who reviews my drawing?
Production engineers at the plant in Changsha. Messages sent on WhatsApp or by email reach them directly.
What if my part cannot be made in carbide?
We will tell you. Some geometries and some load cases are better served by steel and saying so is more useful than taking the order.
Can I visit the factory?
Contact us to arrange it. The plant is in Changsha the capital of Hunan Province.
