Materials
- Sealed vibrating wire sensor body with filter element
Key Benefits
- Three installation types from one series covering filling and drilling methods
- Ten ranges from 0.1 to 6.0 MPa so resolution matches the head being measured
- Resolution of 0.05 percent FS or better and total error of 1.0 percent FS or better on AT-PIE3031
- Optional temperature channel reading to 0.0625 degrees C resolution at the buried point
- Identification recognition can be added to recover the instrument code after a cable break
Application Scenarios And Who It Is For
Application Scenarios
- Pore and pervious pressure in dam and hydraulic structure foundations
- Long-term embedded monitoring under buildings and structures
- Filling type installation during construction
- Drilling type installation in existing ground
Who It Is For
- Dam owners and hydropower operators
- Geotechnical monitoring contractors
- Consultants designing piezometer arrays
- Construction contractors installing instrumentation during filling works
Problems It Solves
- Uplift and seepage pressure that is never confirmed after commissioning
- Instruments that fail their seal in long-term submerged service
- Selecting one instrument family for both filling and drilling installation
- Lost instrument identity when cables are cut on a busy site

Quality Control
- Each unit calibrated across its selected range
- Secondary sealing checked on AT-PIE3031
- Temperature channel verified where fitted
- Instrument code recorded and matched to the delivery list
Customization Options
- Range selection across the ten steps
- Temperature sensor added on request
- Identification recognition function
- Cable length for the borehole or fill depth
Comparison With Other Products
| Compared With | Why This Product |
|---|---|
| Standpipe and water level meter readings | The piezometer gives continuous embedded pressure data rather than a manual dip reading |
| AT-PIE3031 versus AT-PIE3032 | Choose AT-PIE3031 where secondary sealing and the tighter 1.0 percent FS total error are required |
Use Guide
- Select filling or drilling type to match the installation method
- Saturate the filter before installation as required by your procedure
- Record the initial reading and elevation of the sensor
- Protect the cable and terminate at the readout or logger position
Questions Buyers Ask
Vibrating Wire Piezometer FAQ
Which model suits a borehole installation
AT-PIE3030 is the drilling type model. AT-PIE3031 and AT-PIE3032 are for filling type construction and installation.
What ranges can I order
Ten ranges from 0.1 MPa to 6.0 MPa, matching the specification steps 1 to 60.
Can it measure temperature as well as pressure
Yes. A temperature sensor can be added to measure the buried point, with accuracy of plus minus 0.5 degrees C and resolution of 0.0625 degrees C.
What accuracy should I expect
AT-PIE3031 gives resolution of 0.05 percent FS or better with total error of 1.0 percent FS or better.
How do we identify instruments after a cable break
Order the identification recognition function so the original instrument code can be found after disconnection.
Do you supply the piezometer casing as well
Yes. GT-PC series PVC piezometer casing is available in OD 53, 70 and 80 mm.
