Selecting The Right Earth Pressure Cell Range
Ranges Available
AT-LC-2020 is supplied in ten steps from 0.1 MPa to 6.0 MPa. AT-LC-2030, the strain type micro cell, covers 0 to 1.0 MPa and can be customised.
Why Range Selection Drives Data Quality
Resolution is quoted as a percentage of full scale: 0.08 percent FS or better on AT-LC-2020 and 0.05 percent FS or better on AT-LC-2030. A cell sized far above the real pressure wastes that resolution.
Size And Fit
The micro cell is 28 by 7 mm with 350 ohm impedance and insulation resistance of at least 200 megohm, which suits model tests and thin interfaces.
Pressure Or Pore Pressure
Earth pressure cells read total contact stress. For pervious pressure in a foundation, use a vibrating wire piezometer instead.
Keeping Instruments Identifiable
Identification recognition can be added so the instrument code can be recovered after a cable break during construction.
