
Backup Power For 4G And 5G Base Stations
Choosing between 3U, 4U and 5U lithium formats when the rack space is already fixed.
A base station battery has one job and a hard constraint. The job is to hold the site up when the grid drops. The constraint is that the rack space was decided years before you arrived.
Start from the slot, not the capacity
Cabinet rack space comes in fixed heights. Our range is built around that: 48V 200Ah, 48V 100Ah in 5U, 48V 100Ah in 4U and 48V 50Ah in 3U.
Dimensions are 440x480x265.9 mm, 482x221.5x384.8 mm, 482x177x480 mm and 440x420x132.5 mm respectively. Measure the slot before you specify the energy.
Then work out the runtime you actually need
Total energy runs from 2560 Wh on the 3U unit to 10240 Wh on the 200 Ah unit.
Divide usable energy by site load in watts. Remember the SOC range is 10% to 100%, so usable energy is not the nameplate figure.

Cycle life decides the replacement schedule, not the purchase price
The 48V 200Ah model is rated at more than 4000 cycles. The 100 Ah and 50 Ah models are rated at more than 3000 cycles at 0.2C with 80% capacity retention.
Compared with a lead-acid string replaced every few years in a hot cabinet, the replacement schedule is where the money is.
Charging behaviour matters in an unmanned cabinet
Charge and discharge capacity efficiency is 96% or better across the range.
Standard charge currents are 100 A, 60 A, 50 A and 30 A, with overcurrent protection at 105 A, 100 A, 105 A and 55 A. Match these to the rectifier already installed.

Temperature is the specification people skip
Charging is allowed from -10 C to 60 C and discharging from -20 C to 60 C, with relative humidity from 10% to 90%.
Outdoor cabinets in hot climates sit at the top of that band for months. Confirm the cabinet ventilation before you blame the battery.
Standardising the estate
Mixed formats multiply spares, training and truck rolls.
Because all four formats share the same 16 strings and 2 parallels pack architecture and the same sheet metal case approach, an estate can be standardised on one supplier while still matching different cabinet slots.
