When should a line post replace a pin type insulator?
When the application voltage exceeds the pin type range, when the line angle load approaches the pin cantilever rating, or when leakage distance has to increase without changing the structure.
How is cantilever strength applied?
As a transverse load at the conductor position. Combine wind load, line angle tension and construction loads, apply your safety factor and compare with 12.5 kN.
Can the base fitting match our crossarm?
Send the crossarm and base fitting drawing with the enquiry and we will confirm the arrangement before production.
Which type do we need at 35 kV?
ANSI 57-2, with 559 mm of leakage. The 57-3 with 737 mm is the 45 kV class unit.
Why quote both dry and wet flashover?
Wet flashover is measured under standard artificial rain and is the conservative reference for exposed lines. Both figures are published per type.
