5 Stages Each With the Problem It Solves
Each stage lists what normally goes wrong at that point, then how it is handled here.

Sectioning
A piece that cannot get through the site access is worthless, however good it is.
Access is checked during design. Where it is tight, the piece is split at joints chosen to fall on lines of the form, trial assembled, then marked in assembly order.

Crate Design
A standard crate leaves a compound curved sculpture bearing on two points.
The crate is built around the finished geometry with foam contact on every finished face and the load taken through the structure, not the surface.

Surface Protection
Protective film left on a polished surface in a hot container can bond to it.
Protection is chosen for the transit time and the route, and the removal instruction ships with the piece.

Documents and Freight
Sculpture sits awkwardly between art and manufactured goods in customs terms.
Packing lists, dimensions and weights are issued with the shipment so your forwarder or ours can book accurately.

Arrival
Damage found a month after delivery is impossible to claim.
Photographs of the crated and uncrated piece are taken at dispatch, so the condition at handover is documented on both sides.

At which stage is the price fixed
When the design is signed off. Before that a price is indicative, because the material, the structure and the finish are still moving.
How much of this happens in your own workshop
All of the fabrication and finishing. Cutting, forming, welding, seam dressing, polishing and packing are done in the same 12,000 square metre building in Shenzhen.
Can we visit or see progress
Progress photographs are sent through the build, and the finished piece is stood up and photographed from every side for written approval before it is crated. Workshop visits can be arranged.
What is the most common cause of delay
Design approval, followed by the foundation. Both are inside the client's control, which is why the base plate and anchor pattern are issued early enough to pour while fabrication is still running.
