Mirror, brushed, sandblasted, etched, plated and sprayed finishes
The finish decides how the piece reads on site. We hold eight standard finishing routes and match any RAL reference on sprayed work, with printed patterns applied under the topcoat.
Process Flow
From Requirement Analysis to Delivery
Every stage below has one owner and one output, so nothing is left to be resolved on site.
Finish Selection
The finish is chosen against viewing distance, exposure and maintenance access.
Weld Preparation
Welds and burrs are ground off first, because the surface below decides the surface above.
Base Coat for Colour Work
Putty is applied evenly across the ball and left to cure to build a durable base.
Sanding
Sanded from 150 grit through 180 grit and finished at 600 grit.
Pattern and Topcoat
Patterns are printed and covered with film, then the topcoat is sprayed in the RAL colour.
Curing
Each coat takes around ten minutes to apply per panel with twenty minutes to an hour between coats.

Surface Finishing and Colour FAQ
What do you need from me to start?
A size, a grade, a finish and a destination. A drawing, a photograph or a small sample is enough for our 3D drawing team to develop the panels.
Do you quote one off pieces?
Yes. Commissions of one are normal here, and the same route also covers repeat batches.
Can I change the specification after quoting?
Yes, before production starts. Diameter, grade, wall thickness, finish and mounting can all be revised, and we requote against the change.
How is the finished piece protected in transit?
Pieces are crated for the freight route chosen. Customs clearance paperwork is handled by the carrier and we assist where extra documentation is required.
