Eye Plates Questions Buyers Ask

Which pad eye shape should I choose

Square and diamond plates spread load over four fixings and suit deck and wall mounting. Oval and round plates use two fixings and suit narrow rails and panels. The swivel plate is for changing pull directions.

What is the difference between a round eye plate and an open eye plate

The closed round plate has a fixed loop that a shackle passes through. The open version leaves the loop unwelded so a rope or line can be dropped in without unshackling.

What fasteners do I need

Fasteners are not supplied with the plates. Use stainless fixings of the same grade family to avoid galvanic issues, and back the plate where the panel is thin.

Can these be used for shade sails

The square and diamond plates are commonly specified for shade sail corners. Confirm the load and span with your installer and tell us what size you need.

Do you make sizes to drawing

Yes. Sizes across the eye plate range are made to order, so send a drawing or a sample with the hole centres and plate thickness you require.
