What is DIN 580 and DIN 582
DIN 580 is the standard forged lifting eye bolt with a machined shoulder and metric thread. DIN 582 is the matching lifting eye nut. Both are used to create a temporary lifting point on machinery and tooling.
Can an eye bolt be loaded sideways
A standard DIN 580 eye bolt is designed for vertical pull. Angled loading reduces capacity sharply and needs a swivel lifting point instead. Ask your lifting engineer before using one off axis.
What thread sizes do you make
M6 through M24 on the DIN 580 eye bolt and the DIN 582 eye nut. Other sizes are made to order.
What is the difference between a screw eye and a hook screw
A screw eye has a closed loop, a hook screw has an open one. The open hook lets a line be lifted off without unthreading, the closed eye cannot release by accident.
