How An Automatic Box Assembly Machine Forms a Box

Four operations happen between the blank going in and the finished box coming out, and each one has a mechanism behind it that you can ask about during a factory visit.

Shell feeding

The cover shell is fed into position. On the GR-1200ZA this is the first station of a seven-link board system, and Guorun holds granted patents on the paper feeding and conveying mechanisms behind it.

Glue spraying

A computer-controlled nozzle sprays stripe, dot or mist patterns, and can spray fonts and logos. Because glue lands only where the pattern places it, consumption falls and there is no squeeze-out at the seam.

Positioning

The shell and inner box are brought together. Semi-automatic machines hold 0.3 to 0.4 mm. The GR-580/720ZA is stated at +0.2 mm. The GR-1200ZA adds a CCD vision system and a YAMAHA four-axis robot at 2 mm placement accuracy for irregular blanks.

Bubble pressing

The assembled box is pressed to remove trapped air. Guorun's one-time automatic bubble pressing system does this without a module change between formats, which is the step that manual pressing gets wrong when a book box side comes out loose.

Questions From This Guide

Why does bubble pressing matter

Manual pressing leaves book box sides loose, which shows up later as cracking or an open seam. One-time automatic pressing removes that variable.

What does mould free actually mean

The four-corner holding, clamping and suction device adapts to bottomless, enclosed and bottomed inner boxes by switching mode rather than by fitting tooling.
