A quote is returned within 24 hours of having what it needs
GRACTS responds to a drawing with a detailed quote within 24 hours. The clock starts when the information is complete, so the fastest thing you can do is send all five items at once rather than answering questions one at a time.
One: the file
STEP, IGES, DXF or PDF. A STEP file gives the geometry; a dimensioned PDF gives the tolerances and the notes. Sending both is better than sending either alone. If you have neither, describe the part and we will tell you what is missing.
Two: the quantity
Quantity changes the price per piece and sometimes the way the part is made. The minimum order quantity is 1 piece and volume pricing applies from 100 pieces and above, so it is worth asking for both numbers if you are deciding between a test run and a launch.
Three: the material
Name the alloy and grade if you know it — 6061 or 7075, 303, 304 or 316L, brass C360. If you do not, say what the part does and a recommendation comes back with the quote.
Four: the finish
Anodizing Type II or III, plating, powder coating, polishing, brushing or passivation. Finish affects both price and machining sequence, so naming it up front avoids requoting later.
Five: the date you need it
Standard lead time is 7–10 business days and rush production in 3–5 business days is available. If the date is fixed, say so in the first message so the schedule is checked before the quote is sent, not after you accept it.
