The Route From Requirement To Production

Parent reel supply
Honeycomb die cutting runs 70 g to 100 g kraft, and the unwinder takes 1200 mm diameter rolls up to 1 tonne.
Agreeing the parent reel specification first avoids buying a machine that cannot take the reels your mill actually supplies.
Forming
Unwinding, die cutting and rewinding happen in one process at up to 200 m per minute.
Ultrasonic web guiding keeps the cut pattern centred and magnetic powder brake tension keeps the finished roll from telescoping.
Roll changing
This is where the labour cost sits, not in the cutting.
Three builds exist for this reason: manual on the forming machine, automatic with a five shaft loader, and fully automatic with shaft pulling and label pasting.
Finished format
Roll or sheet, and 508 mm or 380 mm in most orders.
Roll to sheet cutting is an option on the forming machine and can be matched with the paper cushion making machine.
Sleeving
Some honeycomb output is better sold as a sleeve than as a roll.
The EM-PC900 forms honeycomb into open sleeves from 200 mm to 900 mm long for bottles, fruit, flowers, ceramics and glassware.
Quality and consistency
Finished roll length, cell formation and tension decide whether the customer reorders.
The automatic meter counting device stops the machine at the length you set, so rolls leave the line consistent.
