Project Challenge

Trim parts for the aftermarket have to reproduce the original mounting geometry exactly while carrying a cosmetic surface good enough to sell at a premium. Getting one right and the other wrong makes the part unsellable either way.

• Replacement caps that do not clip onto the original mounting points
• Imitation carbon finishes that lift and fade in service
• Minimum order quantities too high to test a new vehicle model

Our Solution

Parts are moulded in real carbon fiber to the original internal geometry, with the visible face finished in gloss or matte to the brand's choice. Mirror cases start at a minimum order quantity of ten pieces and steering wheel parts at one piece, so a model can be tested before a range is committed.

Manufacturing Process

Mould making follows a review of an original part or the customer's 3D data. Lay-up and cure are matched to the part, then the component is trimmed, finished and trial fitted.

Supply Chain Coordination

Related exterior parts for the same vehicle - hoods and spoilers - are quoted and produced together so a model-specific range ships as one consignment.

Quality Control

Fitment is checked against the original part geometry, and the visible surface is inspected for weave alignment and finish defects before packing.

Final Result

Carbon fiber car parts became one of the four main product groups CarbonWizer produces, alongside bike and scooter, drone, and industrial and consumer electronics components.
