What This Solution Covers
A plating line loses metal at three points: drag-out into the rinse tanks, the bath itself when it is dumped, and the effluent that leaves the building. This solution puts an electrowinning machine on that path so the metal is deposited as solid before any of it reaches waste treatment.
Step By Step From Solution To Metal
Identify the streams
List every stream that carries metal: plating bath, first rinse, subsequent rinses, spent bath and any stripping liquor.
Analyse the solution
Provide the metal, the concentration and the daily volume of each stream so the right model and configuration can be selected.
Size the machine
Match daily volume to a model: AC200 at 100-200 L/day up to AC800 at 600-1000 L/day, or combine units for 6,000-18,000 litres of silver-bearing solution per month.
Install and pipe up
Connect the solution feed to the inlet valve and purge the line through the exhaust valve at first fill.
Run electrowinning
The rotating titanium cathode and high-frequency pulse rectifier deposit the metal with no reagent added and only 150-250W drawn.
Harvest the deposit
Strip the cathode by hand; silver slag at 96-98% is torch melted above 99%, and gold is given one refining pass.
Refine to bar
Take the recovered metal to 99.9-99.99% on a silver or copper electrolysis refining machine.
Check the barren stream
Confirm residual metal before discharge: silver below 5-20ppm and gold below 2-10ppm.
