Step By Step From Solution To Metal
Sort the feed
Separate gold plated boards and pins from silver and tin plated hardware; they take different routes.
Strip the gold
Run your stripping chemistry to load gold into the pregnant solution.
Electrowin the gold
Recover it at over 99% with barren solution below 2-10ppm gold.
Deplate the silver hardware
Load parts into the four hanging baskets and strip silver and tin electrolytically.
Recover the stripped metal
The same cell deposits the stripped metal; the electrolyte is filtered, precipitated or electrolysed to give silver slag.
Refine the copper fraction
Copper residues carrying gold, silver, palladium and platinum go to a copper cell, which keeps the precious metals in the anode mud.
Work up the anode mud
Clean it, then reduce and oxidise in a medium frequency furnace and separate by liquid extraction.
Refine to sale purity
Take silver to 99.99% on a silver cell and give recovered gold one further refining pass.
