3D & 2D Mould Design
A good design is 60% success of a new mold. Mould design at TJ-Teck is done by designers who know the structures and the standards your drawings refer to.
That opening line is TJ-Teck's own, and it is the reason mould design is treated as its own discipline rather than as a step between quotation and machining.
The design work covers both the 3D mould model and the 2D construction drawings, built around four properties: good safety, long-standing quality, easy to replace and easy to maintain.

Designed to the standards on your drawing
Mould bases and standard components are specified from LKM, Hasco, DME, Meusburger, Progress, Misumi, Cumsa, Staubli, AHP Merkle, HPS, Parker and HEB, so spares are available wherever the tool ends up running.
2D construction drawings, not just a 3D model
The 2D set is what the toolroom machines from and what your maintenance team reads in five years. It is issued as part of the design release, not as an afterthought.
Design release before machining
The mould design is released for your review before machining starts. Shrink factors used per material are stated in that release.
Design properties
Four things every TJ-Teck mould design is measured against
Good safety
Actions that cannot collide, ejection that cannot run into a slide, and lifting points sized for the mould weight. Safety in a mould is designed, not warned about with a label.
Long-standing quality
Steel grade matched to the job and enough steel behind every shut-off and slide face to survive a production run rather than a sample run.
Easy to replace
Wear items designed as inserts, so a damaged shut-off or a worn core is a replacement part rather than a weld repair on the whole block.
Easy to maintain
Cooling circuits that can actually be cleaned, ejector plates that come apart without stripping the tool, and standard components your own toolroom can re-order.
Frequently asked questions
Can you design a mould for us to build elsewhere?
Yes. The 3D mould model and the 2D construction set can be supplied as a design-only scope.
Whose mould base standard do you work to?
Whichever your drawing names. LKM is the default where nothing is specified; Hasco, DME, Meusburger, Progress and Misumi are all built directly.
Do you state the shrinkage factors used?
Yes, per component and per material, in the design release document.
