Electronic Box
A moulded enclosure with integrated snap latches, a cable port and a sealing lip, built so the housing closes and seals without added hardware.
The problem
Enclosures fail on assembly, not on the drawing.
Enclosures fail on assembly, not on the drawing. The lid does not click, the cable gland pushes the wall out of shape, or the sealing face has a witness line exactly where the gasket has to sit.
The latch, the cable port and the sealing face are treated as the three features that drive the whole tool. Parting line, slide positions and steel condition on those faces are agreed in the DFM report before the mould layout is fixed.
How this part is tooled
This housing is a closed box with moulded snap latches on the outside, a moulded port for a cable entry and a continuous sealing lip around the opening. Every one of those features crosses the parting line, so the mould needs a considered layout rather than a straight two-plate split.
The latch arms are the parts most likely to be under-filled or to sit proud of the wall. They are checked against the draft angle and the steel condition of the surrounding wall in the DFM stage, because a latch that is thicker than its wall will sink and a latch that is thinner will short.
The sealing lip is a continuous, uninterrupted face. Where the geometry allows, it is kept on a single piece of steel so that no parting line or insert joint runs across the gasket contact, which is the single most common source of leakage complaints on moulded enclosures.
Part and tooling data

|---|---|
| Process | Plastic injection moulding |
| Integrated features | Snap latches, cable port, continuous sealing lip |
| Mould action | Slides required for the side latches and the port |
| Surface | Matt as shown; texture to your specified grain on request |
| Material | Per your drawing or part specification |
| Cavitation | Quoted to your annual volume |
| Tooling standards | Mould base and components to LKM, Hasco, DME, Meusburger or Misumi |
Values marked “per your drawing” are set from your data at quotation stage. TJ-Teck does not publish assumed dimensions for a customer part.

Frequently asked questions
Can the enclosure be textured instead of matt?
Yes. Give us the grain reference, for example a VDI or Mold-Tech code, and it is written into the DFM report so the draft angle is set correctly for that grain depth.
Do you quote a mould with slides differently?
Slides, lifters and their steel lines are listed as separate items in the DFM report, and the quotation shows what each action adds, so you can see what a design change would save.
Which hot runner brands can you build in?
Synventive, Husky, Incoe, Mold Master, YUDO, Mastip, Ewikon, HRS, Runipsys and DME. Name your preference and it is built in.
