Container Loading and Packing for PV Modules
Cartons, 40HQ counts and why the packing configuration line decides your landed cost per watt.
Freight Is Part of Your Cost per Watt
Buyers compare module prices and then discover the landed cost tells a different story. The packing configuration on the datasheet is what closes that gap, and it is available before you have a quote.
Start with the Carton
Both TITAN X POWER module platforms pack 31 pieces per carton. That is the unit you should order in. A part-filled carton still occupies a full carton footprint in the container, so rounding your order to whole cartons is free money.
Then the Container
A 40HQ holds 558 pieces of the TTM 585-605 W module, or 620 pieces of the TTM 530-550 W. The smaller module fits more units because it is narrower, even though it is slightly longer. Divide your project module count by these figures and you know your container count before anyone quotes you freight.

Mixed Loads Are Planned by Carton
Because both platforms use the same 31-piece carton, a mixed container of 530-550 W and 585-605 W modules can be planned by carton count rather than being treated as a special case. Send your split with the enquiry.
Staged Delivery for Large Projects
On a megawatt-scale project, shipping everything at once turns your site into a warehouse and exposes thousands of modules to weather and handling damage before they are needed. Send the civil works programme and container releases can be planned against it, so modules arrive in the order the rows are built.
What Happens Before the Crate Is Sealed
Modules are flash-tested and sorted into power bins, then glass, frame and junction box seals are inspected. Only then are cartons crated, sealed and marked for sea freight. The packing list should match the bins in the crate - if it does not, the supplier is not binning properly.
A Practical Checklist
Confirm carton quantity, pieces per 40HQ, carton marking, the destination port and whether you need staged releases. Those five answers turn a module price into a landed cost.
