Residential Rooftop Array in Norway

A house on open rolling terrain with a low-pitch dark roof. The array is mounted on tilted frames rather than flush, so the modules face the sun at a useful angle despite the shallow roof pitch.

Customer Pain Points

What Made This Project Difficult

  • Low sun angle at Nordic latitude versus a shallow roof pitch
  • Wind exposure on open terrain with no shelter
  • Snow load and snow shedding through a long winter
  • A short installation season between weather windows

Client Background

A house on open rolling terrain with a low-pitch dark roof. The array is mounted on tilted frames rather than flush, so the modules face the sun at a useful angle despite the shallow roof pitch.

Project Challenge

At Nordic latitudes the sun sits low, so a shallow roof pitch wastes a lot of the available irradiance. Tilting the modules fixes that, but a tilted array on an exposed rural roof has to handle wind uplift and snow.

Our Solution

TTM modules on tilted aluminium alloy frames with ballast pads, raising the array off the shallow roof to a useful angle. Anodised aluminium frames and IP68 junction boxes handle the wet, cold and wind.

Manufacturing Process

Modules produced, flash-tested and binned on the automated line; tilted frames configured for the roof pitch and pre-assembled.

Supply Chain Coordination

A single-roof order shipped by carton with the tilt frames bundled together for one-visit installation.

Quality Control

Flash test and binning, plus frame and junction box seal inspection before packing.

Final Result

A tilted rooftop array on a shallow-pitch Norwegian roof, angled up from the roof plane on ballasted aluminium frames.

Customer Benefit

Tilting the array recovered the irradiance that a shallow roof pitch would have lost, and pre-assembled frames let the crew finish inside a short weather window.
