Customer Pain Points

What Made This Project Difficult

  • The roof is split into several planes at different heights
  • Rooftop plant and walkways cut into the usable area
  • High UV and heat load over the array's life
  • Each roof section needs its own racking layout

Client Background

A large commercial building with a stepped metal roof, air handling plant and roof-level walkways, in a suburban setting. The array is split across several roof planes rather than sitting in one clean block.

Project Challenge

Australian sun is unforgiving on modules and on the crew installing them, and a stepped roof with plant on it means the array is broken into sections that each need their own layout and stringing plan.

Our Solution

TTM modules on aluminium alloy racking, with the layout configured per roof plane rather than forced into a single repeated pattern. Anodised aluminium frames and IP68 junction boxes suit the UV and heat exposure.

Manufacturing Process

Modules were produced on the automated line, flash-tested and binned. Racking was configured and pre-assembled per roof section.

Supply Chain Coordination

Racking bundles were labelled by roof section so the crew could work one plane at a time without sorting parts across the whole roof.

Quality Control

Flash test and binning, frame and seal inspection, crates sealed and marked for sea freight to Australia.

Final Result

A 300 kW array spread across multiple roof planes, with each section laid out around the existing plant and walkways.

Customer Benefit

Per-section racking configuration meant no roof plane was wasted, and the crew could complete and commission one section at a time.
