How a Custom Order Runs: Sketch, Sample, Production, Freight
The actual sequence, what each step needs from you, and how long each one takes.
1. Specification
Send the product, the quantity, and what you want changed. For layout changes a sketch is enough. For device sleeves, send the device length, width and thickness. For colour, either a Pantone reference or a selection from the physical colour card we send.
2. Artwork
AI or CDR vector files for logos. State the branding method if you have a preference; otherwise it is matched to the material - emboss on leather, engraving on wood, screen or DTF on fabric, embroidery on woven fabric.
3. Sampling
7-10 working days for most layout, size and colour changes. 10-12 working days for deeper structural work such as a rebuilt compartment layout or custom retail packaging. A standard-model sample is charged at twice the unit price and refunded once the order is placed; custom samples are quoted on design complexity.
4. Approval
The sample carries the colour confirmation proof and, on leather, the emboss strike-off. Production colour is then held against that approval within a ±2% tolerance.
5. Production
10-20 working days for colour and logo customisation. 25-35 working days where the style or function is changed.
6. Minimums
100 units per customised style, with colours and sizes mixable inside that on most lines. Changes that need their own tooling - a new tray handle profile, a new notebook closure - carry a 500-unit minimum.
7. Freight
Air and sea both arranged. For certified lines, test reports are issued with the shipment for customs clearance.
