Rope, Rivet or Fixed: Which Menu Fastening Fits Your Reprint Cycle
Three fastening systems across four menu products, and the page count each one actually holds.
The cost is in the reprint cycle
A menu cover is bought once. The menu paper inside it is reprinted whenever a price moves, a supplier changes or a season turns. The fastening determines whether that reprint is a paper cost or a cover cost.
Rope fastening
On the dark green suede-feel holder. An elastic leather cord with a bead, holding 6-8 pages of medium-weight paper. Pages swap in seconds with no tools and no press. Best where the menu changes weekly and staff make the change themselves.
Metal rivet, loose-leaf
On the brown A4 folder (8-12 pages) and the black 24.5x31cm binder (8-10 pages). Higher capacity and a firmer hold, with page changes still made in-house. Best where the menu is longer and changes monthly rather than weekly.
Fixed pocket
On the 25x35cm full-grain menu holder with suede lining, which protects a printed menu inside pockets rather than punching it. Best where the menu is a designed, printed piece that should not be punched at all.
Page capacity is paper-dependent
Every figure above assumes medium-weight menu paper. Heavier stock reduces capacity. If you know the GSM of your menu paper, state it with the enquiry and the capacity can be confirmed before sampling.
