Flat Cut Bronze Sign Letters
1mm, 3mm, 5mm, 8mm, 10mm solid brass material
Cut straight from solid plate, with no seam anywhere. The simplest letter to make well and the hardest to make badly.
Brass, bronze and stainless are water-jet cut, which leaves a square edge and no heat affected zone — important where the letter will be polished or plated afterwards. Aluminum and acrylic are CNC router cut.
Aluminum is listed from 1mm through 2, 3, 5, 6, 10 and 20mm; brass from 1mm to 10mm; acrylic from 5mm to 30mm. Thin plate reads as a graphic applied to the wall; thick plate reads as an object mounted on it. Both are right, for different buildings.
Horizontal or vertical brushing, polishing, satin anodizing on aluminum, plating to a bronze or gold tone, or a two-pack polyurethane color to your PMS or RAL reference.

Under 3mm reads as a graphic applied to the wall. 5mm to 10mm is the usual exterior choice in metal. 20mm and above reads as a solid object. On acrylic, go thicker than you would in metal — the edge is part of the effect.
Not internally — there is no cavity. If you want light, the build has to be fabricated or use an acrylic back, which is what the halo and edgelit builds do.
