Most auxiliary lighting failures are wiring failures. A harness that is undersized, unfused, or fused at the wrong end turns a good lamp into a warranty claim and occasionally into a fire. Which harness do I need for my lights?
Tell us the lamp models and how many you are fitting. The wire gauge, relay and fuse are chosen from the total load, which is why we prefer to quote the harness with the lamps.
Why does the fuse go at the battery end?
The fuse protects the wire, not the lamp. Fitted at the battery end it protects the whole run. Fitted at the lamp end, a chafe anywhere upstream is unprotected.
Can one harness run several lamps?
Yes, within its rating. Give us the total load and we will confirm whether one harness covers it or whether the installation needs a switch panel.
Do your light bars come with a harness?
Bars can be supplied bare or as a kit with the matching harness and switch. Say which you want at quotation.
