How A Coated Coil Is Built
The finish is applied on the coating line, before the material ever reaches your press or your board bench.
On PCM steel the printed pattern sits under a clear varnish and above the top coating, and a polyethylene film protects the face until the panel is installed. The full nine layer build up is published on every pattern steel product page.

Do you supply coil or cut sheet?
The products on this site are published as coil. Writing steel is supplied 600mm to 1500mm wide on a 508mm inner diameter in 2 to 4 ton coils. PCM pattern and appliance steel is supplied 800mm to 1500mm wide on a 508mm or 610mm inner diameter up to 8 MT. Tell us the format you need and we will confirm what can be produced.
What is the difference between painted writing steel and ceramic writing steel?
Painted writing steel carries the writing performance in a coil coated paint system and runs 0.2mm to 0.6mm. Ceramic writing steel is a vitreous enamel surface that neither scratches nor corrodes, refuses stains and stays colourfast, and runs 0.4mm to 0.6mm.
Can you print our own pattern?
Yes. Wood, brick, stone and camouflage patterns are standard designs and all patterns can be custom made. Send a sample panel, a photograph or a printed swatch to start.
Which colours are available for writing surfaces?
White in high glossy or matt for markers, green for chalk and black for chalk. White and green are also available with a printed 5 x 5cm grid.
How do we get a quotation?
Send the product, thickness, coil width, colour and quantity by WhatsApp or email. If any of those are still open, send the finished board or panel size and we will work back to the coil specification.
