Blood Separator
Molded blood separator bodies, discs and internals, carried over from the original product catalogue.

The blood separator carried in our original product catalogue, built as a multi part assembly of thin clear moulded sections.
Thin clear sections warp as they cool, and a separator has to stay both dimensionally stable and optically clear across every cavity of every part in the assembly.

Mold design was completed for the assembly rather than part by part, with cooling layout and gate positions chosen around the thin sections. All cavities were built and sampled in our own tool room.
Every cavity in the assembly sits in one plant, so the fit between parts has a single owner.
Sampling was measured on assembled sets, not on individual parts, before the tooling was released.
A separator assembly tooled and sampled as one system, with the full tool set held on one site.
Fit and clarity problems have one address, and a correction is a tool room job rather than a negotiation between molders.
