Three Material Decisions That Decide Service Life
Housing Alloy
Aviation grade 6063 extruded aluminium resists rust and corrosion and carries heat away from the board. Thin or unspecified alloy is where early failures start.
Potting Compound
High thermal conductivity weather resistant PU glue keeps water out and heat moving. Full potting also protects the board against vibration on bridges.
Cover Material
Tempered glass and optical PC lenses hold transmittance and hardness outdoors. Flame retardant PC covers on pixel points keep weight down on cable strings.
