What Honeycomb Paper Is
Honeycomb paper is an eco-friendly, strong and cost effective kraft paper packaging material formed with a hexagonal cell formation. It is a lightweight and strong material made from paper pulp that mimics the structure of a honeycomb. Because it is made out of kraft paper and water-based glue, it is recyclable, which is the main reason it is cost-effective over the life of a packaging programme.
How It Is Made
Honeycomb paper is made by a honeycomb die cutting module, which cuts the kraft web and then expands it into a hexagonal structure. That structure is what provides the strength and durability. On our machines the unwinding, cutting and rewinding happen in one process, at speeds up to 200 m per minute on paper from 70 g to 100 g.

Why It Protects Without Scratching
Honeycomb paper is easy to stretch, soft and flexible, so it wraps around a shape and provides cushion protection without surface scratch. That is a different behaviour from a flat wrap held under tension, and it is why the material is specified for fruit, flowers, ceramics and glassware.
Where It Is Used
Honeycomb packaging suits all types and sizes of material, from a small cell phone to a large automotive part, and from the smallest chips to the largest generators. Beyond packaging it is also used for furniture and construction applications, and as the base material for doors, acoustic walls, exhibition panels and furniture, because it combines superior strength and rigidity with extremely low weight per cubic metre.
